Nenehachi Diary/Vol.2 "The Origin of Nenehachi"

September 30, 2025

Hello ♪
This is Nenehachi Farm! 🍅🐈⬛🍎
Thank you for coming to read my diary 🤗
The end of our popular cherry tomatoes, sold by weight, is fast approaching...
I will do my best until the end of this season so that I can produce delicious cherry tomatoes until the very end!

I'd like to talk about the origin of the name "Nenehachi," which is a question that is often asked by customers who come to the Mikoda Morning Market.

The name comes from...the name of our pet cat!
The name is a combination of the names of the rusty cat "Nene" and the white cat "Hachibei".
When we had to decide on a name, the two of them were standing side by side, looking down at us, so
I decided that this was it!

Cats have long been highly valued in agriculture as they are used to catch mice, and because of their abilities they have been worshipped as "guardian deities," and there was also a custom of using pictures of cats as talismans.

Since it combines agriculture and cats, I thought, "I have no choice but to use this name!" and chose it with great enthusiasm.

In fact, talking about the two cats has led to laughs with customers and even business opportunities...

It is very useful as a beckoning cat 🌟

We plan to have him continue to work hard as a spokesperson for Nenehachi Farm!

I always check the smell of my feet after work.
