July 29th was the first auction day for Takizawa watermelons.

It's a huge serving day where two will set you back 70,000 yen, and it's the start of the real watermelon season in Iwate 🍉 There will be tons of watermelons lined up at San-san Square and the Mikoda Morning Market!


The Sansha Odori and Obon seasons, when families gather together, just can't begin without this!!! The extra-large size really adds to the excitement☺
