Tomomi Yano "The Person Holding the Water Basin"
[Water Basin]
This comes from the magical tool "Sifter" that appears in the Harry Potter movies.
Do you know this magical tool?
In the movie, he touches his temples with a wand, pulls out his memories, and places them in a sparkling tray filled with mysterious water.
Then I think there was a scene where Harry was able to relive the memories of various people.
------
Listening to all the different stories at the Mikoda Morning Market made me feel like I was reliving memories.
(Maybe I was born with a slightly larger water basin than most people, which makes it easier to store memories. If that's the case, it would be a shame for me to keep the memories I heard to myself. I want everyone to relive them.)
That's why I chose this title.
------
2015.
When I joined Iwate Television, the only breakthrough I had as a terrible announcer was the Mikoda Morning Market. I was told that my conversations with the locals were somehow natural and interesting. It was an opportunity for me to open up in Iwate.
2020.
I wanted to go deeper than just reading and communicating. It made me want to open the door. It was the Mikoda Morning Market that made me want to make a documentary as a director.
2022.
When I left Iwate for a while, the head of the morning market gave me the role of "special advisor," saying, "I want to make sure Yano-chan can come back anytime."
2025.
I've been relying on the title of special advisor for three years.
As a nominal advisor who didn't do anything, I thought, "No, if this keeps up, I'll soon lose my role..." lol
This is how I decided to write a book about my memories of the morning market.
(Even if I had been able to publish this book, I don't know if I would have fulfilled my role as special advisor...lol. Going to the morning market and writing are mostly hobbies...)
